Reading Romances: You have a lot of series going on, how do you create characters that will sustain a series of books? Do you know everything about them going in, or does that come bit by bit as you write the books?
Rebecca Royce: I do have a lot of series going on right now. I won’t ever do four series at the same time again.  But, I’m thrilled with each of them and so I’m so happy to be doing it.   I think if a character is complex and real they will sustain a book and that an overlying plot arc will sustain a series.  I do not know everything about them—but I know a lot.

I know that you wrote the first book a long time ago, so how was the process of writing Love Beyond Loyalty and going back to that world? Were you anxious to continue the story?
I wrote Love Beyond Loyalty about a year ago. It was more strange to write Love Beyond Sight, the book after that one. But, I have always loved this series and it was like putting on a comfy pair of socks. It just fit perfectly. I was very, very anxious to keep going.

What are five fun facts about the series or this book, that readers would love to know?
• The characters all appear in every book, once they’re introduced.
• Charma is based on my best friend
• Charma is pronounced K-arma. Spelled with a Ch pronounced with a K
• The demon gets his own chapters in this series
• The next book could go two ways. I’m still weighing pros and cons.

Will the remaining Outsiders only know what their complete powers are after they find their destined souls?
Some of them already know.

I loved the sister and brother competition and I get the feeling that more demons will appear during the series, am I right?
Oh yes. And the demon will be quite different then you’ve seen him

Is there a reason why most of them are found in the kitchen table or was it just a coincidence?
The kitchen is the heart of the family, at least in my home. So, no not a coincidence.

Now I have 2 questions that I bet all of those who read Love Beyond Sanity are dying to know: Have we already met the person that spoke to Eden? Will we get to know more about the lady with the dog?

No.  But Eden has met him.  Although she doesn’t know it.  Oh yes. You will know the lady with the dog quite well.

Can you tell us a bit about the next book, Love Beyond Loyalty?
Love Beyond Loyalty is the Gabriel’s story.  It will throw things into a lot of upheaval.

What do you have planned for this series that you can share with us?
It will be nine books and they will become increasingly dark.

And now to my traditional interview question: what makes a romance novel a great love story and how would you define “romance”?
Love. I think, ultimately, these are love stories and that romance is born of true love.  That’s what keeps me reading and I hope that is what people find in these books.

I had the pleasure to review Love Beyond Time, the first book of this series, and it was a fantastic read! It captivated me and I was eager for more. When I started reading Love Beyond Sanity the beginning of the book was slow but we had some very exciting surprises. However, there were certain situations out of context and not logical, even for a fantasy series. That bothered me a lot and even annoyed me sometimes but I tried to overcome these obstacles and continued to read. It is packed with action and it will keep you on the edge of your seat during some scenes!

Charma was one of my favorite characters during book one and she finally meets her match. I didn’t like him as much as the other Outsiders, but I may grow to like him in the future. I have do admit that all of the sex scenes could be a lot better and the romance between them could be developed in a different way. I missed having more scenes just between the two of them, but ee get to meet more characters than expected and I can’t wait to really get to know them. I was very happy with the twists Rebecca Royce planned for this title. It also still left me wanting more and with a lot of questions left unanswered, but we’re still at the very beginning at the Outsider’s Journey. After you finish this title, you’ll be thinking about it for days…

P.S: Note to Rebecca: I still anxiously await for Marina’s story to arrive (even though I know it might take a while)!
