Review Policy

Update: I’m behind with my reviews and I’m terribly sorry about that. I’m currently accepting a very small number of books to review, but please send your request and I’ll take a look whenever I’m available.

I don’t do cover reveals, spotlights, excerpts, pre-made interviews and guest posts. I only participate on book tours if I can provide original content with a review. Sometimes I do interviews and guest posts (they need to be exclusive to Reading Romances).

I would like to let you know that english is my second language and there’s a chance of grammar and other small mistakes in my reviews. When I write them I do what I can to prevent major errors. Still, If you find any, please feel free to contact me in order to correct them!

Thanks for choosing Reading Romances to send a request! I love reading about people falling in love! If you are an author, publicist, or publisher who would like to submit your book(s) for review, please note the following:

*Reading Romances is currently interested in reviewing books (including self-published titles, short stories, novellas, and anthologies).

* I love to read, and I want to see quality authors succeeding! Please read some of my reviews before sending your request, the type of review I write might not be what you’re looking for. Here’s a 5-star review and a 2-star review, for example. If you’d like your book reviewed, please read all the information ahead:

Genres I read: I tend to enjoy character driven stories with HEA and sexy scenes! I love good twists and to be surprised. I choose the books I want to review by reading the blurb. I’m a fiction girl who loves romance novels! Mostly Historical, New Adult, Contemporary and Erotic romances. Sometimes paranormal romances and erotica. Occasionally romances with sci-fi and urban fantasy elements! I rarely read YAs.

Genres I don’t read: Historical Fiction, Memoirs, Christian Fiction, Inspirational, Chick Lit, Suspense, Non-Fiction. I’m also very tired of BDSM.

Favorites: Some of my favorite authors include Julia Quinn, Eloisa James, Lisa Kleypas, Kresley Cole, Christina Lauren, C.L. Wilson, Richelle Mead, Meg Cabot and Rebecca Royce.

About Me: An avid romance reader and reviewer! I’m the owner and sole reviewer of, a book review blog based on romance fiction. I have blogged since from March 2011. I also post reviews on Goodreads, Amazon and have an active Twitter and Facebook pages (and group).

I love discovering new authors, but due to the volume of requests I get and being just one reviewer on my blog, it just wouldn’t be humanly possible to read them all.

I do not accept/receive monetary compensation for my reviews. Integrity is very important to me. I’m NOT a professional reviewer, and I do this because I love books. Understand that the reviews I write are my opinion and not statements of fact about the books.

I’m a mood reader, and as such, I don’t tend to accept many reviews with a deadline. The last thing I want is to force myself to read a book I’m not in the mood for and have that affect my rating. However, if you’re looking for a review within a certain time parameter I’ll try to accommodate it as much as possible.

When reviewing a book, I’ll express my honest opinions (good or bad) in a professional manner and do my best to present both pros and cons, but not in a way that would ever be hateful or insulting to the author. I value the hard work of authors and all the professionals involved in it. My reviews are based on my personal opinions on the book. They are completely original and honest. They mostly consist of my thoughts and feelings, and other characteristics that caught my attention. I’ll write about what I loved, liked, didn’t like and anything that might have irritated me about the story/characters. I’m very honest, and I will give both praise and constructive criticism.

* Excessive grammar or spelling mistakes will be a negative factor (unless it’s an ARC). Books rated at 3 hearts or above will be recommended by me.

* I don’t like to read a series out of sequence most of the times. If you want me to review it and I haven’t read the previous titles, please send me the first book and the others that follow. Each book will get a review. This will allow for a more effective review.

* I point out potentially sensitive or offensive elements to my readers during the review.

* Reviewing and blogging is something that I enjoy and that take seriously. I devote a lot of time (pretty much daily) to both, but I have other priorities, as I am sure you’ll understand.

*I try very hard not to include spoilers or too much detail about the plot in my review. I do my best to not spoil a book, and if there are some spoilers, I’ll warn first.

* I post my review on the blog, Goodreads and Amazon. Please contact me if you want me to post the review somewhere else (publisher website or other places you can buy books online) or if you’d like to use a portion of one of my reviews.

What you can do to promote your book after I’ve posted the review: we want to let people know and read about your book! To help with that, tweet the review, share on facebook and any other social media you use. You can always tag me!

Published Reviews:

If I’ve reviewed your book, I’m happy for you to quote sections of the review to use on your own site and social media. However, please don’t reproduce the review in its entirety (Google will penalize us both for duplicate content) and please link directly back to the review on my site whenever possible.  If you choose to add a quote to your blog I’ll be honored, so please send me an email with a link so I can share it =) Thanks!

I will consider all requests for review and I’ll reply to the ones I’m interested in reviewing. Please don’t be offended if I don’t accept your book or if you don’t get a reply. It might not be something I would enjoy. I try to only accept books for review that capture my interest and I think I will enjoy reading. 1. I’m not sure my book falls in the romance category, but everyone who has read it,be they man or woman, has understood it to be a love story and so far all of the comments have been positive. For instance, recently I received the following comments from a successful, long time Hollywood screenwriter:

“I just finished ‘In The War Zone.’
A big deal for me to finish any book in one day — so that says a lot.
I really, really liked your caustic humor — and dead on portrayals of both sides of the tracks in Fairfield county — where I grew up.
More importantly, from a writer’s standpoint, I truly liked your ‘voice’ throughout the novel. And that voice also has enormous compassion and empathy in it. A perfect combination, and all the tonalities work well together.”

Call it hubris if you will, but I am badly in need of a review from a reviewer on The Indie Book Reviewers list to help me promote this book to the best sellers list.

In The War Zone is available on and Kindle and ePub conversions are pending. Additiional info is available on my Amazon author’s page.

I am sending you by email today a photo of the cover page and a copy of my bio and am looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
